4x Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler will appear at this weekend's American Fitness Expo



[Applause] about the great day the American Fitness Expo is coming to Houston this weekend you can get motivated educated and refocused on your fitness goals you can also meet some of the legends of bodybuilding like our next guest four-time mr. Olympia Jay Cutler there's a wide range of what that means I want to get you to define it you know Fitness is overall well-being and people look at themselves every day in the mirror and people have a physique that they want to achieve right and I think that anyone that works out whether it be cardiovascular training weight training some of the New Age stuff like CrossFit I mean that's that's Fitness yeah and it's relative to everybody some people's like their goal is to just walk up stairs without breathing hard right and for others it's the complete opposite of the spectrum and that is to be a mr. Olympia that is amazing and although people look at that and go oh my gosh right there are so many things that medical researchers found out about fitness by studying bodybuilders because the littlest things you would do sometimes will make the biggest difference in the body if it's I would call that the extreme I mean we train to be at the highest level building muscle as large as possible with of course symmetry and condition I mean started with the Arnold error and now it's advanced now the physiques get bigger and bigger everything's everything's changed well we still have the ultimate goal is to have the best built body in the world yeah and when somebody wants a good body I mean we were all full of I want I want if I could just get it takes some level of discipline just give us an idea what level discipline it took for you which kind of means that if there's something else that we want that we can probably pretty much get it you know I lived at what I call a very boxy life stuff so it was basically eat sleep and train and this training consisted up to four hours a day the meals the meal pattern I was eating every two hours so up to seven to eight meals daily and that's what we did pretty much year-round that's the one thing about bodybuilding is there's not really days off where there's an on and off season we consider certain times when we train for a contest like the on season which is about four months of training specifically for one show but you're really training 365 days a year you don't take a break because as you know you step out it's a lot easy to lose all the gains rather quickly than it takes to build it so the moment after you won they said and you are mr. Olympia which by the way Cutler is a great name for you because you're very cutting yes anyway what was the first food you ran toward believe it or not I wanted to drink water ah because we dehydrate extremely to have that appearance on the stage so that skin on top that muscle we can see every striated mark in the muscle yeah so there's a water depletion process that's like three days prior so we're super dehydrate as we go into those competitions to have that shrink look yeah all right so that's the extreme as he mentioned but for a lot of us it's just to get just something small or just maybe we just want muscle custom made me want Fitness because Fitness can also mean healthier in a way right meaning that you're off of a walker longer or you're just you know much more stable longer okay so this Expo is pretty amazing because people can go in there and get inspired number one you will see the body you want trust me yes and there's all types I mean I'm I'm obviously Olympia winner but we have a lot of fitness female are males it was a recent category for females is that it is more of that softer body it's a softer body they're bikini divisions but we have all personalities they're people that don't compete people are there on YouTube inspiring people on Instagram we have now these Instagram influencers that really just go on there and they just show their lifestyle and show this is what I do and it's structured diet training protocol and of course the sleep patterns yeah and we'll get a chance to ask questions of people of course I'm doing a seminar in Sunday and I mean there's a lot of open floor topics that people gonna be covering through the whole weekend yeah okay a lot of us will pit like exercise versus food exercise versus food where the food that goes hand-in-hand yes that's the main thing I can preach that probably 80% of having a relatively conditioned body as the food process all right I don't want people to underestimate what this Expo is because it is free but that doesn't mean it's a cheap event right because that you have their people all under one roof that you were not gonna make a chance to see it any other event you know I travel every week and do expose this is the first time ever that an expo at this caliber has been three it's never been free in the past this year is the first year they're doing it actually a free Expo all right when people go in there sometimes people get intimidated sometimes they get overwhelmed but bodies aren't built in a day goals aren't built in a day what's your best advice for somebody who knows that they want something but have not been able to really execute that yet you need to find something that's gonna influence you to get there whether you're surround yourself by positivity and coming to this event I would suggest show up there show up there in a tank top and pose down with your favorite person get up right now Jake yes thank you very much for coming here and focusing on fitness as we mentioned fitness can mean different things to different people but whatever it is that you want you're gonna have it under that roof there the American Fitness Expo takes place this Saturday and Sunday at the George R Brown Convention Center free tickets can be found online as well as VIP upgrades for the ultimate fitness experience and which that ultimate fitness experience includes what just being present house and being around the greatness of fitness yeah all right and for more information log on to great day Houston comm and we will connect you
