Everything Kelly Ripa Eats in a Day | Food Diaries: Bite Size | Harper’s BAZAAR

– I’m Kelly Ripa, and this is everything I eat in a day. (pleasant music) Okay, here I go. I wake up in the morning and the first thing I do is I take a glass of water and I have something called Get Off Your Acid Daily Greens, which is spirulina, spinach, kale, all ground to a powder
that you mix into water, and it is for alkalining
your digestive system. Then I have a large coffee with ghee and I blend it in the Bullet. And while I’m having my ghee, I have my Persona morning supplements, which is my foundational vitamin, my multivitamin, ginger, and my probiotic. And so that’s phase one. Then I host my morning show. You’re going to say, “Kelly,
do you eat anything?” Not before I talk on the air. So I don’t have any sort of chewing food before I talk on the air. When we’re finished, what I will have is a green apple, cut up. And then I take two
tablespoons of almond butter and a teaspoon of cinnamon, I blend it all together and
I put the apples in there and I eat that like a
porridge, if you will. And that is my first
chewable food of the day. I work out usually after
I wrap for the day. I work out seven days a week. My body wants to work out typically when I’m at work. Most people that write into our show or DM us or send text messages or however they communicate with us now, will always say, “Oh, I watch your show
while I’m on the treadmill “at the gym.” And I think to myself,
yes, that makes sense, because I, if we have
a holiday long weekend and we have a pre-taped show, I will watch the show while
I work out at the gym. Then I move on to what is, what I consider brunch, if you will, because I eat lunch at such a weird hour. It’s really like a breakfast lunch. I have a big salad of microgreens with avocado and toasted nuts on top. Sometimes I have pine nuts, sometimes I have pumpkin seeds, sometimes I have walnuts, sometimes I have cashews. Whatever I’m in the mood for. The avocado toast kick of 2015 to 2017, was two years where avocado toast was pretty much the foundation of my diet and I had it with just about every meal. Sometimes I would fry an
egg and add that on top, sometimes a piece of cheese would accompany the avocado toast. But the avocado toast was
a real staple of my diet and they have one at Cafe Gitane downtown, it’s delicious. If you have the opportunity
to have their avocado toast, I would take that opportunity. For dinner, I have usually a smaller version of the same
salad that I had for lunch. And then I have, either mixed grilled greens or whatever’s in season. I try to eat whatever is in season in terms of vegetables and then I have usually some sort of plant protein mixed in there, like a grilled tofu, sometimes I’ll have fried tofu, sometimes I have some sort of tahini, and that’s pretty much my
diet, except for snacks. I have handfuls of nuts, lots of raw cashews, lots of raw almonds, lots of raw pistachios. I never eat more than a handful but I have several handfuls a day. I try not to have that many cheat meals because cheat meals leads to
sort of like a cheat lifestyle. At my age, and this is at my age, so if you’re younger, enjoy that aspect of your life but at my age now, I find that it takes too
much effort to get ready, so I just stay ready,
if that makes any sense. On my birthday, will I have cake? Of course, I’m not a monster. At Christmas, do I eat cookies? Yes, I’m a human being. But in general, in general terms, I try
not to cheat too much. What I will indulge in is a delicious chocolate covered almond or chocolate covered cashew, some sort of, so I still feel like there’s
something healthy in there. I also have been making a chia pudding, delicious chocolate chia pudding. And then right before bed, I have a giant ginger turmeric tea and then I take my evening
persona supplements which I’ve recently incorporated
a CBD supplement into that, and I truly fall asleep within 25 minutes, so I have to make sure that
I’m really ready for bed. Can’t be doing homework with
the junior in high school and take one. So if you were to ask me
this one year from now, I will have three
entirely different meals, but it will be the same rotation of meals for just about a year. And that’s everything I eat in a day. Now I’m hungry. (upbeat music)

  3. Please stop saying "alkalining your digestive system". This makes no sense. Your digestive system needs to be an acidic environment to digest your food (why we need stomach ACID)

  6. She sounds like a vegetarian and technically the only thing about eating not a lot of calories which is fine your body gets used to living off of that amount of calories so if you binge eat and say have 4000 cal when you’re used to having 1500 then you gain weight it messes with your body.

  7. Of course Kelly eats like that… she is in a very unforgiving industry…one has to make a choice and she made it. If you see pictures of her from 2008 and now, you know a decision was made regarding her diet. At least she is not surviving on cigarettes and coffee like they did in the old days! Everything she is eating seems clean an healthy. I am sure once the show is over she won't have to be as strict with her diet.

  8. All super skinny persons should be honest about what they eat instead of lying like Bella, Gigi etc about how they eat unhealthy.

  13. Oh my Gosh what she eats in one day is what I’d eat in one sitting 🤣. She’s not even that old, though. But the older people get the less they eat.

  14. I’m glad she said young people enjoy being able to eat junk food (very true) and emphasized that at her age she had to consistently eat the way she does—don’t have to be ready if you stay ready!

  19. At the end she’s like “now I’m hungry”. And I’m just sitting here thinking 🤔 what are you craving ? Some almonds, tofu?? This is exactly why I don’t want to be skinny. It just sounds sad.

  23. I lot of y’all have never had to face sickness and what foods can do to you it seems in these comments. There’s so much opening of the mind needed in people. Her diet for the most part is Whole Foods and things that are good for her particular health. And for most of ours excluding allergies and other factors like cheese and what it does to our body, etc . God bless humans. We seem to truly need it reading these comments.

  24. Her and her husband are disciplined in the gym, both of them have been the same size forever lol well she was thicker in General Hospital but even that was in shape too. I need to eat better lol
