The Biblical Anatomy of a Healthy Church (Acts 2:42) TBC030313

so we're gonna take a brief detour out of our chronological life Chrysler is to focus today on and really the biblical anatomy of a healthy church so that's the title of my sermon today is the the biblical anatomy of a healthy or biblical church and notice in that scripture reason the reason I chose it is because a healthy church first of all values how many members of the body how many are important all of them I think you would you would say – I would agree with me is that you know your mouth is important that's how you speak but without your heart or your spleen or your liver or your kidneys that your muscles your brain your head all those things that's you can't really say you'd really you know all those vital ones that's why we call vital organs anybody want to give up one of their vital organs and try a day without one of them oh you can a diet I think that's where we see that we need each other and so we may see people in action we know that Christ is the head of the church but the hand and the foot cannot say I don't need you and so we we're all indispensable I said what is it that binds us together how can we as a church get better organized and better unified and we know that's going to start with the scripture so the main passage that I'm the good exegete today is acts 2:42 so if you turn there real quick and we're just going to simply take the first word it says as we go there acts 2:42 says then they continually devoted themselves to four things the Apostles teaching the fellowship to the breaking of bread and a prayer what was the very first thing listed there to the Apostles teaching how do we hold continually or devote ourselves to the Apostles teaching this is through the Word of God contains the Apostles teaching and that's why the equivalent for us in our service is the preaching time this now is where we are devoting ourselves see the Apostles teaching because I'm simply a repeater I don't have any new information I simply repeat what Jesus Christ has taught in and through the inspired apostles correct so this is what we give ourselves and this is what unifies us this is the head this is this is what coordinates all that together as as all those organs and everything coordinates in the messages up to the the head and it comes in out as a combined effort that works incongruity we want to talk then about a couple things here one is what is the foundation the church and the foundation the church has to be the Word of God you would grant that with me and that's where dr. MacArthur and his church the master plan for the church says really there's he really kind of boils down to two things he says a high view of God and a high view of Scripture that's the mark of a healthy church a high view of God and a high view of Scripture why does it a healthy Church start there without God we have nothing right John says without him we are nothing but it says I can do all things through him who gives me strength Philippians says and then it says a high view of Scripture and I'm telling you there are men attacking at its core the scripture this week I was looking at there's a little web app I use a phone app called the Christian Post it's a little news site gives you Christian news and there was an article there of a man who was defending Rob Bell and his new book that's come out and he basically says doctrine divides krish's no longer need doctrine is he right baloney right because doctrine yes the doctrine does divide but I also tell you this doctrine unites he unites us on the truth the foundation of Jesus Christ it says who is the chief Cornerstone Peter says and so there's a lot of people who are confused in this day and age and and they they say old doctrine divides and and we were asked that question by this woman this week as well what about all the 20,000 different denominations of prostitution doctrine divides I said well I said there's some truth I said I don't think God's pleased with a lot of that I said I said but I do think that that I said one reason I think God's allowed it I said is you know I said if I could use a little humor I said I said Christians are like a bunch of manure I said if you get them all in one big pile they just cause a big stink all right but if you spread them out but they accomplish the good that God wants us to do right and so I said does it mean that I said now the most denominations you know does that mean that I think I said in most present Amish I think agree on the gospel or maybe less so but if they Devine that secondary tertiary tertiary issues that's not good but that is probably how God gets us going I said he did that her in the early church you know a guy got the early church going it says you will be my witnesses in Judea Samaria the other ends of the earth and they didn't go anywhere so you know what he did in the book of Acts he cost three ways to persecution that moved them out of Jerusalem to the other ends of the earth God's gonna get us going and he's not necessarily pleased as far as all of the might you know my new ship victory and going but ultimately is the scriptures that give us our foundation that's what unites us dr. MacArthur also wrote a book called recently called the truth war and in it he starts off the book with a quote about Rob and his Bell and his wife and basically they talk about how it's so liberating to realize the Bible isn't really black and white it's really shades of gray but he denied he's a postmarks he denies absolute truth and he is like an elder in a church one time who's told me says Chad the problem with you is that you see the Bible's black and white when you really need to realize it's just shades of gray I said there's a real problem with that you make the gospel shades of grey you you says he'll be like Jesus you told the Pharisees you make more people member of hell like you are because of your false teachings you know you basically try to you know weed out a what does it say a fly but swallow than that or something like that right or swallow that the whole thing is in there their Pharisee ISM and so we got to be careful this because remember Pilate says what is truth we could answer that from John 14:6 right Jesus I am the way the truth and the life the reason why Kabbalah and Baha'i right is that they amalgamate all truth and say all true the same I said well here's why that can't be true when Jesus says he's the way the truth life no one comes the father says from either he's true or he's lying but you can't have it both ways which is it only Jesus rose from the dead only jesus paid for our sins only Jesus lived a perfect life Muhammad did not you have to choose one of the other what's your choice so we start with a high view of Scripture this is our foundation we got to be careful the emergent emerging churches that deny absolute truth they want to go and say let's have dialogue let's worship how you feel whether you want to worship with yoga prayer labyrinths or you want to be like a seeker sensitive where I had a secret sensitive church guy told me what time says our church is in recovery from John MacArthur that's like well that's interesting I said I don't agree with everything dr. MacArthur is says but I definitely think that you throwing our body of truth and not you know honoring a man who stood on the hard issues of the light especially the gospel is is dangerous you know that you know where we at with this this same pastor and other churches are now saying I don't see any problem with the youth pastor who wants to have sex with the people in the youth group there's no I don't see anything wrong with the youth group people fornicating I don't see anything wrong with a man cheating with his wife I don't see anything wrong with a homosexual pastor I don't see anything wrong with women pastors when the Bible clearly forbids against it and this is where we come to the crisis of our age because I kind of in this introduction with this someone once told me Satan's strategy is no longer murder he tried murder didn't he throughout the Old Testament now his strategy is mixture you see the difference he says it's the danger of the charismatic revivals like Todd Bentley who says God told me to dropkick the man in the front row so they did be heeled they're like really God told you to drop kick a guy in the face okay so we got to be careful that crazy isn't whether the emergent charismatic of postmodern emergent churches all kinds of things because the truth is truth and it's the truth to set you free and I would say this feels that we just need to love remember this same for me please there is no love outside of the truth because truth defines true love doesn't it the world has love all at once but it doesn't have truth that defines and makes that love true love a sacrificial love a christ-like love a selfless love a biblical love and so this is why the foundations we want to be a church as a high view of God and a high view of Scripture as this is the church and without that we have nothing without God and His Holiness with a guy God is truth without God and the Scriptures we have nothing so we want to build as a masterbuilder a good foundation based on the great Commandments to love God supremely well people love people sincerely Richelieu serves our mission statement we want to we want to ultimately have great resources as far as as as good elders and good prayer working the spiritual gifts out of Romans 12 first Corinthians 12 having good fasting have you noticed that's why I've been preaching all these lately because we have a great responsibility says we would have a good foundation of God and the scripture look at this this is biblical look at Luke 6 Luke 6 tells us this says everyone who comes to know me hears my word acts on them and I will show you whom he is like he is like a man building a house who dug deep and laid a foundation in the rock and when the flood occurred its torrents burst against the house and could not shake it because it had been well built but the one who had heard and not acted was like a man who built the house on the ground without any foundation and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed and the ruin of that house was great anybody hear about the man who was swallowed alive this week in his own house I don't know about what that man was into I was like is it wasn't it Korah who God swallowed up into the ground I'm just not even any trace of the man I I mean I I don't know what's going on there but I was like what illustrations we can't be sure that your foundation is not on limestone floor potentially right then you want to be on the the bedrock of Jesus Christ because otherwise our houses collapse and her calamity is great something you saw the tears that brother who that he had lost his brother on national TV look at first Corinthians three verses ten it says according to the grace of God now this is Paul talking out he was a master church planter and a master church builder this is what we want to do and he says it was given to me that I like a wise master build a foundation and another is built as being built on it but each man must be careful how he builds on it do we need to be careful tbh see how we build yes today is a very important day in the life of our church probably one of the most important because we are really laying some key stones and I think a future that God's gonna greatly bless a lot of ministry on and through justice for no man can lay a foundation other though than the one that's already laid which is who Jesus Christ now if any man builds on foundation with gold silver precious stones wood hay and straw each man's then will be but work will be evident based on what he belt with for the day will be shown and it will be revealed with fire and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work you've heard me say live for what lasts live your life as your life is going to go through that fire wall of eternity right and only what remains the gold of your life what was done for the Lord and according to his word is gonna remain on the other side but it says many a man's works and many man's life is burnt up where it says they're only they themselves icescape us through the flames and they have no reward we don't talk enough about heavenly reward and say I don't want my works to be burnt up I'm not saved by works but it says I am to store it for myself what treasure in heaven it says each man will be revealed by fire the test of quality verse 14 if any man's work remains right he will receive a reward if any man's work is burned up he will suffer loss but he himself will be saved as one going escaping through the flames Ephesians 2 says so then you are no longer strangers and aliens you are fellow citizens with the Saints and of God's household we are called wot gods we are God's household where the body of Christ says built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets that's the scripture so there's that high view god again Jesus Christ Himself being the chief Cornerstone because how many Christians claim to be a Christian and they forget oh the Great Commission calls me to be a Siple a follower I just say we're prayer but a follow Christ of my life calls me to be baptized begin obey his commands and teaching them to obey how many of his Commandments all of them because he's the chief coercion we got it we got to pursue obeying all of our Lord's commandments ending it the first John tells us pi/3 says this is love for God to obey His commandments and they're not burdensome it's a great joy to obey Him isn't it oh he's my gracious Lord I love obeying him it's not burdensome I'm like oh I got to go to church this morning I know about you I want to be a church that you guys look forward to coming here you look forward to getting together I do and if we don't have that something's wrong come and tell me I mean I'll brush my teeth at I'll play around more do whatever it takes all right we got to make it attractive let's come in and enjoy it right then we come in and we it says in verse 22 hour 21 and whom the whole building is being fit together and is growing into a holy temple Lord you know that's what God's doing us he's growing us fitting us together as it to be a holy temple to the Lord it says to whom also you were being built together as a dwelling of God in the spirit isn't that exciting this is good stuff God has brought new people here because you are part of our foundation and it got a chance to know that Jordans a little bit better than this week and I'm looking forward to a brother and sister you know the length was looking forward to it brother and sister you know we're thankful God's brought you guys here that all the people in the new membership class exciting to see at least you know four to five new families God's joining with us so let's look and say what how do we want to build this church and when you move out of the center stone you military guys don't take and settle for anything less than this first of all all right our doctor now so right we're gonna talk about the skeletal system we're gonna talk a little anatomy class right we should have we should have a man to come up where I teach this because I'm not an Anatomy like guy but I can put the picture up in the slides okay but we see what we have to have this structure that holds everything up the skeletal that's a high view of God a high view of Scripture sound doctrine personal holiness and our spiritual authority is the scripture alone I told the woman at Panera I said let's start with a basic foundational difference what are we protesting against Luther came to realize that the Roman Catholic Church had three sources of authority they had the Bible good but then they had tradition all the church councils over 2,000 years that contradicted themselves and then the Magisterium right which you're seeing that can happen a lot in the next couple weeks the Pope and the Cardinals that collective body and he said if I can show you where the Magisterium and tradition violates the scripture can all three be true and I said should you trust men who claim that they are the infallible and turfers interpreters or the Vicar of Christ that Christ is vicariously living on the earth I guess Christ just resigned this week didn't he I guess Christ has resigned and for 15 or so days we have no vicarious representation on the earth I said do you honestly believe they are infallible and turfers when I could show you clearly and I just went through the gospel says what do they say is what saves you and how do you exactly is they what are they teaching you I said let me show you from the scripture and I took her and walked her all the way through he's like Wow yeah it's that's not what I'm being taught because we have to have our authority be Sola scriptura the Faisal Sola scriptura scripture alone so a Grasse right grace alone Christo's Christ alone fides faith alone and Soledad glory to the glory God alone those five Souls should be the foundational bedrock of our church should they not let's keep him that way that's the skillet let's look at the muscles then the muscle structure is we got it basically take okay you got the joke good hey this is why what you're today huh all right get the humor I was like yeah I gotta do some of that all right all right so let's talk about the muscles okay so we look at preaching and teaching now these are ways we're gonna exercise the scripture and that's the we're in our lives that should there be good preaching and teaching through evangels emissions through worship prayer discipleship shepherding or counseling people and we set a good elder men's tends fins and sins right because we take care of her she we make sure we can them that go to good water the word a good Bible says we fend off the false doctrine we had to do that this last year we had we ultimately have to men and put people's lives back together when their marriages and or different difficulties come together and those women have to send them out to plant new churches and to be the next missionaries and church planters amen this is what we do this is what we Shepherd we want to build up the family even though America is trying to tear it down we want to train up the next generation we want to have be a giving Church where you guys don't come in with with the typical consumer mentality that says this well what did I get out of church today did you like the sermon did you like the music now I want to tell you this this is so important about you it's not about you you we come here to give of worship to God and that's why you heard that illustration I said in California that this huge banner on the highway of a church says come here we have awesome worship and I I joked I said to Marissa says what it God sent a postcard and say hey so let you guys know what's coming up up to my ears this aroma is just awesome you know or is it for the people it's not for the people for them to think it's awesome it's for God to think it's awesome and I'm telling you this we can be just as awesome with a hundred people as we can with a thousand can't we and I think sometimes it's in us it's in me I come and I look at the empty chair something like oh if we could just kind of be back 250 we're used to be or all if we just I'm telling you know what we have just enough because this is who God has us right now isn't it and I'm okay with that oh well you're okay with that and I'll tell you what I probably can't handle decidely more people than an ounce of guy says why should I send you more sheep if you're not being faithful to sheep I already have which you already have you know so with the you know with Dennis and Calvin and the leaders that we have we're doing the best we have this is probably as much muscle as we can handle right now to put on this little skeletal system that we have let's look at the internal alright as we then want to ultimately as we put that together it's going to be that character and those things we develop within us that obedience humility love unity willing to serve joy peace thankful a self discipline accountability forgiveness singing courage yes so encouraged out my brother and I you know brothers and sisters we kind of fight sometimes because we know each other so well husbands and wife's kind of fight together because we know each other so well but I just so encouraged that my brother and I because he's my only brother I have after Drew died and we patched things up and you know I'm gonna see him he and his wife here and and just so good for us to to not be so what's the word I'm looking for bitter or just we're we're just petty petty or what quaint or all or nothing Marissa's down telling you all my weaknesses all or nothing Chad Laird ok ok so we want to forgive as Christ has forgiven us and I want to say guys there will be enough time in this church well you I will absolutely irritate you and frustrate you and there will be times when you absolutely irritate and frustrate me and I will tell you in those moments will we operate as a biblical church you know but we had a chance this week within the leadership we had a few things and I missed a few cues and I just had to go and say guys I'm wrong and what we just went and we talked it to the other out got on the phone we went to each other's houses we love each other and I was like oh thank you Lord Slyke you know that's how that's how the body operates we have dependence flexibility desire for girls do you guys want to grow do you want to be absolutely the best and most fruitful Church you can be you want to be absolutely fully utilized for the kingdom and do all that you can in your little life for Jesus Christ do you want to you want to do your best for Jesus you want to go for it or do you want to play Church like the typical American who sits there for 30 or 40 years and they're no more serving the day than they were thirty years ago I don't want that's Christianity makes me sick I don't want that I want to go up and I want to do things I want to go places I want to have that hope but we to be reminded who's the head it's not about Chuck lardo someone say what do you call her I said because when a telemarketer calls me I always can tell that they don't know me because they say you should draw on lard there and I'm like nope never heard of dude sorry you got the wrong number right or Chuck lard or whatever it is that they mispronounced your name but it's not about us it's ultimately about who it's about Jesus Christ and making him known and he knowing him he was crucified he's the head he's the savior he's the shepherd he's the sovereign he's the Sanctifier because I'll tell you this we have to be fair our Catholic friends it tells no man to call someone's father so I by the way when I was recently you know I had a chance to meet at Catholic priests and I called him I didn't call him father I just call him by his first name and so was a cult the poster call father I said I won't call him father because Nancy tells me called no one father except for God the Father but also it says in that same pass is called no and leader but you know that we got to be consistently right we always thought who's our leader Jesus is not me Dennis Calvin mark anybody else Jesus Christ is our leader he's our head he gets all the glory anyway we won't have a high view of God how do we have a high view of God we give him all the glory first Corinthians 8:6 for for for it for us it says it says for yet there is but one God the Father from whom all things exist one Lord Jesus Christ by whom all things exist and we exist through him so how much of us or anything no he gets it all he's the one – by which we exist Romans 8:6 for from him and through him and to him or how many things all things Colossians 1:15 he is the image of the invisible God speaking of Christ first word of all creation for by him all things were created other in heaven on earth visible and invisible Thrones dominions rulers authorities it says all things have been created through him and for him he is before all things and him all things hold together he's also excuse me the head of the body the church and he is the beginning the firstborn from the dead I love this keyword notice at the end so that he himself will come to have first place in everything isn't that beautiful words or one translation so he will come to have the supremacy in everything does he our first place in supremacy and everyone area your life do you have a high view of God as the way you generally operate Westminster Shorter Catechism does this what's the chief end of man answer man's chief has to glorify God and enjoy him forever second question they ask this is how they inculcate their children they ask their kids so bad think Isaac what role has God given the direct us how we may glorify and enjoy him and you shall say the Word of God which is contained in the scriptures of the Old Testament New Testament is the only rule to direct how we may glorify and enjoy him all right so high view of God means we love him we enjoy it we want to know him we want to talk to him we want to listen to him we want to serve Him and we get it when we give him praise and we want to always keep that place of fear and reverence it says he is God and I am NOT I fear God not because he's not gracious and loving but fear recognizes who he is and what he can do someone mentioned I think was kept bad Omar said he could squash us in any moment couldn't he and so there's a reverent holy fear of that a literal fear but there's also a longing and hope for God that's a high view of God john macarthur writes if i says it's absolutely essential that a church perceive itself as an institution established for the glory of god i fear as the church in america has descended from the lofty purpose and focus instead on humanity today the church seems to think its goals help people feel better about themselves it offers people nothing more than spiritual placebos it focuses on psychology self-esteem entertainment and a myriad of other diversions that try to distract us or meet our felt needs the church has been reduced to an ork the church has been reduced from an organism that emphasizes knowing glorify God to an organization that focuses on man's needs yeah if you know and glorify God the needs of your life are answered proverbs 9:10 says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom when you have a right relationship with God and everything else will fall into its proper place I'm not saying that we should ignore people's needs we are to be concerned about people the same way God is but a balance must be found and that begins with a high view of God and we must take that seriously it was well written wasn't it he goes on says I feel righteous in the indignation towards preachers and others who want to take God off his throne and turn people in us into a servant who has to do whatever they demand of him God people tend to be irreverent they do not know how to worship God some people think that worship is anything that's that induces a warm feeling they know little about God there are many Martha's and not enough Mary's in the church we are busy serving and we don't take time to sit at Jesus feet we don't tremble at his word we don't allow ourselves to be confronted by God's holiness and our sinfulness so that he can be can use us for his glory when a person dies we have the tendency to say how could God let that happen we have no right to ask that we should ask instead why are we still alive God being holy could have destroyed man with the moment he first fell on us fell into sin just because God is gracious towards us is no cost for us to be indifferent God must be taken seriously he goes he says a couple more things just look at your Christian bookstore the vast majority of books written today attack only trivial problems during the eras when the church was most electricians had very few books to read but what book did they read the Bible now we take that out of the public school we wonder why our kids are killing other kids but the books that they do have but but the book they did have the by will talk about a relationship with God most books don't talk about that a survey taking an age and national wide pastors conference I wonder if this is look what word come on to business revealed that most pastors feel they need more help in doing the families in spite of all the books available to them relate and the related issues there are still an area where Christians leaders new Christian leaders need more help so the answer isn't the right more materials about the family the problem is that people aren't taking God seriously enough to walk according to his laws and find out what he said already if families were taught a high view of God there would not be as many family problems in the church today do you believe that high view God James 4:8 says draw near to God and He will near to you we must take God seriously and exalt him we don't want to have a man sit or church we are to reach out to people of the love of Christ so that God is the focus of our worship and our life so you see here with a high view of Scripture we want to maintain this bedrock the inspiration of Scripture the two main passage Timothy and Peter on that one it's an air sea soul 19 and James if a perfect God inspires the word it must be perfect to deny that as deny that God wrote it Scripture is infallible it's the Elven every one of its parts not just in its ability lee peel of salvation but in every one of its words chosen we call that the verbal inspiration of Scripture right scriptures forever it will never pass away it's sufficient that it will would not return empty or remember men in our memory verse yesterday yesterday his divine power has given us what everything we need pertaining to life and godliness it's totally sufficient and it's clear psalm 119:105 it's a light to our path so let's look at two very briefly in with this brief exegesis of this verse notice this this is my calling to remain steadfast with a high view of God and scripture amen because why it says it says they were towards now they speaking of the early church is what I was talking about they were towards they were all about being focused toward striving towards moving towards this one word steadfastness the first part of that Greek word means towards the middle part means steadfastness continuing they were steadfast continually moving towards what the Didache aid the teaching the doctrine it wasn't the rod bells the world says move away from the dead okay no we moved towards the dedicated teaching the the scripture the logos of our beloved God amen and we must remain steadfast on that amen that's what we remain that did I care of the Apostles and the Koinonia the fellowship what binds us together what gives us unity what we have in common is the word of God that is our unifying theme and force is God's Word to have that we not have that we don't have anything the breaking of bread that's why we do community every single week in this church because if they did the puzzles teaching every week continually we should do these things continue like our fellowship and finally prayers that's why we pray every week in this in this in this church we pray every single midweek we pray in every single meeting for a while and we don't get tired of it because this is what we need to be steadfast continually towards attending to constantly keeping close company with as the word Koinonia means to be closing company and devoting ourselves to regularly that is our mission that's how we've designed this worship service you may be seen yeah this is a long worship service JED hour and 50 minutes Mike Easter is getting a little sore I want to get up and go I'm my belly starting to get hungry for the pizza alright that's coming I want to move on right but I'm telling you let's remain steadfast because I want to tell you I don't want to slice the time in the worship of through music that's biblical Colossians 3 feedings forces seeing saw Psalms hymns spiritual songs to one another I don't want to slight the preaching of the word yes you'll get 45 to 50 or an hour long sermons here but if you love the work don't you want to learn it know it and soak it up and it's a refreshment to your soul I don't want to shortchange the prayer or the gospel or all the things we want to do is so that's why we do what we do and I'm so thankful that you are gracious about it most of the time let's let's say it close with just one more quote from dr. MacArthur and one early church father who said this has enclosed his he says this is from his book the master plan for the church again he says the second non-negotiable he talked about the high view of God first but now he's gonna talk about the second one the second non-negotiable truth that makes up the scales in the church is the absolute authority of Scripture the Bible's constantly under attack even from within the professing Church I recently read an article from a seminary professor who argued that Christians should not view homosexual behavior sinful if a person it says if a person advocates that view he must be disregarding the Bible how inconsistent for a seminary professor deny the Bible when he is training men to be a minister of the Bible but what is but this is happening all the time Jay the Bible's being attacked head-on I believe that charismatic attacked the Bible and they add their visions and revelations to it it is subtle and often unintentional attack but it's an attack just the same they say that Jesus told them this and God told him that but they're undermining the Bible when they do not regard it as their single Authority those who believe God speaks regularly with special messages for individual Christians trivialize his word God reveals himself primarily through the pages of Scripture and the written revelation God must be held up as the absolute authority one of the worst assaults on God's work comes from when people say they believe the Bible but don't know what it teaches that's hypocracy he says that's the subtle kind of attack o people all across America say they believe the Bible from cover to cover but don't know one paragraph of it isn't he right about this how can they believe what they don't know that's a good question jesus said man will not live on bread alone but why what every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God and I would say do you count the Word of God precious have you been starving yourself spiritually by not going to that that Bread of Life every single day and getting your mind right your soul right in your heart right and your perspective right and your actions right because I tell you as you get this as you think and as you believe it so you act you get this right and in light of the word truth and truth out right you'll get everything else right it'll fall into line but you get this wrong you my friends are in danger of ship-wrecking and then and obviously getting to places where the Satan is a foothold and he's scourging you lose the blessing of God I end with this it's a quote from the second century to show there's nothing new a second century secular philosopher named Era steeds said this about early Christians and I want this to be true be said about us by our and air steve was an opponent here's what he said they the Christians abstain from all impurity in the hope of the recompense that has to come in another world ask for their servants or hand maids or children they persuade them to become Christians by the love they have for them and when they have become so that they call them without distinction brothers and sisters they do not worship strange gods they walk in all humility and kindness and they walk in all humility kindness abstain and falsehood is not found among them and they truly love one another when they see the stranger they bring him into their homes and rejoice over him as a tree as one up a meeting with the true brother and they do not call brothers those who are after the flesh but only those who are the spirit of their God and if there is any among them that is poor or needy or if they had not abundance or necessity they fast two or three days so that they may supply was what they gave up to supply the one that was lacking oh so that's kind of actually we don't even have to fast because the food I don't eat I'm gonna give my kids or some of the poor I'm just fasting to basically you know bring my soul into you know agony to to bring down my flesh to be more in line with spirit but they did it to offer the food that was lacking they observed scrupulously the commandment of their Messiah they live honestly and soberly as their Lord a God commanded them every morning in all hours they on account of the goodness of God they praise him and laud him over their food and drink they even render thanks yet if any righteous person of their number passes away from this world they rejoice and give thanks to God and they follow his body as though he were moving from one place to another heaven we lost so much and when a child is born to them this is one of the reasons I chose this for you guys and when a child is born to them they praise God and if again it chances to die even if it's infancy they praise God might leave him still as one who's passed through this world without sins such is the law of Christians and such as their conduct let's pray father give us a church the high view of you the high view of your work bless this mean we're about to have over some food and fellowship organize this church Lord way you want it mobilize this church and Lord spur it on the way you want it so the Lord we truly are children of God doing about your business doing everything you've command us to do and we thank you Lord and praise you in the name of Jesus we pray amen
