Your Yonge and Eglinton, I’m with Anze Benko, coach and owner of OPEX Fitness Midtown Toronto. A thousand one, a thousand two… (upbeat music) Anze, Thank you so much for
having us and being on the show. Why don’t we start off
by having you tell us about OPEX Fitness. – Well, thanks for having me. OPEX is a cost-effective personal training done in a small-group setting. We work with a bunch of different people, but it’s kinda like our main shtick. – Now, you have competitors. One is immediately
across the street from us and another one is 50
feet down the street. So you know, what makes you different? What brings people in the door and what keeps people stickin’ around? – So we, most the time, people know the classic personal
training and most people know the group classes, right? So what we’re trying to
do is provide a sweet spot between the two. So we provide personal
training that is cost effective and we do it in a fun
environment, so we kinda get the best of both worlds. – And you mentioned that
you kind of wrap it in with a bunch of stuff, right? Like nutrition and– – Yeah, it’s a full-service, right? It’s everything you would
get from a personal trainer or personal training,
like the accountability, the individualized approach,
the nutrition, the lifestyle, and we also have, you know,
people do it in a small setting so there’s a little bit
of community, it’s fun, it’s motivating, so it is
the best of both worlds. – Now, I was on your website
and you have a really interesting promotion or offer. Do you mind sharing a
little bit about that? – For people that have the
memberships in other gyms and they’re looking to switch
things up a little bit, we know the breaks are hard
so we offer to take care of their cancellation
fees or whatever it is. We would just credit that to
their personal membership. – [Jamie] Okay, and then you
had a second promotion I think? – [Anze] Second promotion
is a four-week trial, $100 off our normal
price, and that gets you the full experience, right? So you get three one-hour sessions, one-to-one with a coach, we do
a bunch of assessment stuff, we cover nutrition, lifestyle,
movements screening, body composition, and after
that you get an individualized program, exercise,
nutrition and lifestyle. And at the end, a 30-minute
consult with a coach. – Anze, is there anything
about your business that we haven’t touched
on, that you wanted to share with people? – I think the gyms can be
a little bit intimidating for a lot of people. It’s hard to get started,
especially in an environment like this, there is rubber, metal, dumbbells, barbells, right? It is intimidating. But this really is for everybody. Like for example, our youngest
member is a 13-year-old girl, our oldest one is a 77-year-old gentleman. And between those two we
work with people that are into high level sports
or people just people trying to lose some weight, living a little bit healthier lifestyle. – So Anze, I wanna thank
